STAYING WARM IN WINTER

Christ's job and your job

HIS JOB
The Lord created
"furnaces" inside you
to keep you warm.
HIS JOB
Christ placed three special glands inside
you. Two of them are found near your
stomach, and one is found in your neck.
These glands make chemicals which tell
your body to produce extra heat.
YOUR JOB
Dress in
layers of
clothing.

HIS JOB
The Lord makes your muscles quiver when it's cold, causing you to produce extra heat. This is called shivering.

HIS JOB
Sometimes God turns up the temperature in your body when you are sick, with a fever.
HIS JOB
God carefully controls your body temperature using a special thermostat called your hypothalamus (high-po-THAL-a-miss). Your hypothalamus is found at the base of your brain
YOUR JOB
Eat good meals each day. This will fuel your body and keep you warm in winter.
