The One Who Stands Above Gravity (Mark 6:47-51)

As Jesus walks on the surface of the lake, the glory of His Being transcends the physical force of gravity that holds the rest of us to the confines of this Earth (and causes us to sink in water). This shows Him to be the Glorious Creator He is! Only God Himself is above all Creation (John 3:31). The magnitude of this biblical account is probably under-appreciated. The One Who wrote the laws of gravity and submitted all of Creation to them, reveals ever-so-briefly to us that He commands all power (Matthew 28: 18; 1 Peter 3:22). Oh, what a God we have in Jesus!

Our Compassionate Creator

[God] fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them (Psalm 145:19 NIV).

Our God Is a Consuming Fire

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in Hell. . . . for our God is a consuming fire (Matthew 10:28; Hebrews 12:29 ESV).

Jesus—our Creator—is delightful!

In his writings, theologian Jonathan Edwards referred to God as "winsome," as he was wont to do. "Winsome" is just another term for "delightful." After years of studying nature and the character of our Creator, I totally agree with Edwards—Jesus is delightful! Look and see . . .
