Hurricanes & the Goodness of Christ
September 28, 2021 — Hurricane Sam is raging in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with winds up to 140 mph (225 km/h). This is a terrifying Category 4 storm! If it came in contact with the Eastern seaboard of the United States, by the sovereign will of our Almighty God, it would devastate Washington, D.C., New York City, or Boston.
If a calamity occurs in a city has not the Lord done it? Amos 3:6
In our Lord's incomparable goodness, it appears that Sam will remain far away from land and "die at sea." This display of Christ's lovingkindness should move us to tremble with fear. He has caused many hurricanes to strike our country but appears that He is diverting this one out of harm's way.
Do you not fear Me? declares the Lord. Do you not tremble in My presence? . . . Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail. Jeremiah 5:22
