God is Life!

Death Valley is the hottest and driest place in North America — it can reach a seering 130° F (54 °C) in summer. (The ground temperature hit a record 201° F at Furnace Creek on July 15, 1972.) And average rainfall is less than two inches (5 cm) a year!

Despite the incredible harshness of this environment, our Lord Jesus has sown and maintains over 1000 plant species in this inhospitable desert. Death Valley is also the home for 51 species of native mammals, 307 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles, three species of amphibians, and five species fish.

What does all this say about our Creator? Christ is the God of life (John 1:3-4)! He causes things to grow where we wouldn't think they should be able to.
