A blur of hot lead whizzed by the delicate, white flower head of the Queen Anne's lace.1 The ground nearby exploded like an erupting volcano, shaking the plant's roots. It couldn't know the danger it was in, for it lacked a mind and could not think. It had no way to hear or see what was going on around it. This particular Queen Anne's lace had been planted near the stone wall by the Lamb of God. It could not run away-it had no choice but to remain and endure the fight.
